Shapers MB Pro 3 Fin Set Medium

The Shapers MB Pro 3 Fin Set Medium is the signature fin of a free surfing charger, Matt Banting. The design aims to give a super fast and critical approach to your surfing, the same as Matt’s. The shape has more sweep than Shapers’ other fins. This means it has even more down the line drive. So you’ll be able to charge on your bottom turn, getting around sections and setting up barrels.

Where you get release and responsiveness is from the rear fin that is smaller. This is a setup that’s been used by Kelly Slater and Julian Wilson in their signature fin sets. The smaller rear fin helps you pivot off the tail especially off the top where too wide a rear fin gets you hung up. The side fins don’t have such a wide base so you get a good all round response between drive and direction changes.

Dynamic Flex

For flex the MB Pro features a thinner upper so has more flex giving you hold as the wave power turns on. This flex eventually releases. So as you go in and out of turns and changes of direction you get a continual boost. This dynamic power boost is assisted by IFT, Inner Foil Technology. This is a foil like a concave on the inside of the side fins. This gives your fins a dynamic that changes as the wave changes. It’s not that great if you like a stable feel under your feet. If you like the feeling of power boosts, as the wave gives you a section or you go into a change of direction you’ll boost forward with a constant dynamic feel.
