The Plan B Team Andromeda Skate Deck 8.0 gives you a great place to start for your own ride. Plan B is definitely not your typical skate brand. The focus is on the team, yet not athletes. It’s more an eclectic mix of wild personalities doing their thing showing off their skills against a backdrop of urban decay.

The deck is 8″ wide, hence the 8.0 model number. In terms of standard size decks, 8″ is a little narrower. There are narrower decks, and larger. For example 7.75, 8.0, 8.38, 9 inches. Deck width is a personal preference as to which would be your favourite. So you need to try a few and this deck is a great place to start.

Narrower decks have less volume, so they’re lighter, more responsive, easier to initiate your trick. However, they’re narrow so when it comes time to land, there’s less deck there for you. Similarly wider decks have more volume, take a bit more effort to get going, yet are relatively much easier to land.

As you become more proficient you could drop deck size, being able to land easily on narrower decks. Standard 7-Ply construction of hard rock maple is bonded with epoxy.
