The OAM Taylor Knox Tail Pad gives you great low center of gravity traction, for drivey power moves. The pad features are low. The arch bar is low taking a pill shape that is always there providing support. This is unlike a tear drop that can feel dimished as you move back with your foot onto the smaller area.

The kick is also not super high. This gives several advantages. Often you don’t land your back foot correctly from take off. So you have to take time and concentration to put it right. It’s much better to land your foot on the low kick. As even if it’s not perfectly placed, the low kick means it will still have plenty of contact.

Another benefit of a low kick is that if your foot does tip off the end in a super steep takeoff or landing an air, it’s easy to stay on your board. There’s no steep sharp drop that will cause your back foot to fall off completely. It will also be easier to recover onto the lower kick.
