The Komunity Project Ultimate 6′ KS11 Leash comes out of a Kelly Slater initiative, the Komunity Project. This is a premium leash with a high tech feature – the leash is all one piece. This is a key improvement as the main place of leash breakage is at the joins at either end of the leash. The KS1.1 is one piece of urethane to the swivels giving you great strength. The swivels are inserted into the cord with PTT, Plug Threading Tool technology. The leash is only 6mm in cord diameter so doesn’t clutter up your surfing.

Small Cord Diameter

The cord size is one of the best features of this leash. A small cord makes a big difference to your surfing in small waves. This size diameter becomes almost unnoticeable. Even if caught under your feet it doesn’t affect your surfing. The same goes if it gets caught under your fins. The motion of moving forward and starting paddling to catch a wave, or riding on the wave, causes the smaller diameter to be naturally washed out. A generous well padded cuff is provided at the ankle. The cord also projects away from your ankle so the leash is out of your way once on the wave.

The leash incorporates highest grade stainless steel swivels at both ends. So the leash turns and moves freely and doesn’t snake or twist. This is an important feature preventing the cord from snagging around your fins or causing your board to catch. Construction is of solid urethane so the leash doesn’t overstretch and returns to size. A detachable triple wrap rail saver is also part of the package so your board gets maximum protection. The leash includes a plug buddy. So it’s super easy to thread the leash to your board deck plug.
