Design features include just the right size paddle blade. It’s not too big so as to catch on the wave. Jimmy Lewis Signature Masao Paddle doesn’t pull too much water or have too much area to be caught by chop and bump. This is important as you use your paddle a lot to assist your turns and moves. When the specially designed blade enters the water it gives you maximum control. The shape and angle give a great power to stroke ratio as you pull yourself and your board through the water. Second, the Jimmy Lewis Signature Patterned Masao SUP Paddle is of a special fibreglass construction. This offers you benefits over carbon. They’re not fatiguing and are less harsh on your body than unforgiving carbon. When a wave slaps your paddle or your paddle bangs into your board carbon transmits the vibration into your arms. This can cause fatigue. The fibreglass has more flex so absorbs a lot of this vibration.
