The Island Fin Design Pau Hana Single Fin is a great looking fin. Coming from Hawaii it has a traditional tartan print embedded in the heart of the fin. The fin has a very vivid look achieved with this inlay of artwork. Laid out by hand no two artwork images or fins are exactly alike so your fin is unique. The fin core is transparent so the artwork catches the light and looks great. The outer layers are in a matching blue so your fin has a distinctive look. The fin is designed for an adjustable fin box. It has a stub at the rear that slots into the fin box. So it slides in and out and up and down the length of the box. The front end has a screw and tab so the fin is securely fixed in position you’ve chosen.

Adjustable Performance

This fin adjustment is great as it allows you to try a range of positions. Typically the farther back in the box your fin is placed the more carve and down the line your board will feel. The farther towards the front of the box the more loose and skatey your board will feel. The Pau Hana design has generous wing tip with a cutaway flexi mid section. So you get great hold at the tip for sucky waves and late takeoffs. Flex through turns means the board will always be flowing even when you’re jamming into short arc and rail to rail turns. For a tall fin this flex prevents feeling like you’re tracking and being pushed down the line. Construction is solid, of fibreglass. The screw fitting is long wearing brass so the fin is durable.
