The Island Fin Design Leeward Single Fin is a great looking fin. Coming from Hawaii with a beautiful Aloha style design the fin has a solid traditional fiberglass construction. Inlay artwork creates a vivid image. This catches the light due to the transparent nature of the fiberglass. All done by hand, so no two artwork images or fins are exactly alike. The fin is designed to fit an adjustable fin box. It has a stub at the rear that slots into the fin box. So it slides in and out and up and down the length of the box. The front end has a screw and tab that secures the fin in position. This is great so you can try a range of positions in the box, adjusting and experimenting. The Leeward fin has a steep outline giving you great pivot. This means that that it will help you surf with more vertical turns. It’s also carries area up from the base with a subtle profile reduction through the middle with more area in the tip. This means you will get drive with a small amount of flex, so you won’t skip out. The fin is recommended for noseriding. When you move your weight up your board this fin will still provide hold. When you turn it will give you a responsive turn rather than keeping you tracking drawing a long line. Construction is solid, the fins have a generous thickness and foil.
