Island Atom Shortboard

The Island Atom Shortboard gives you Intermediate to Advanced performance across mid range conditions. Balanced, it will give you speed, moves, and fun in below average beach break waves to charging head high point waves. It does this by giving you a generous outline with full nose and rounded drawn in tail, and a rocker that’s flatter through the middle. The full nose gives great wave catching. On bigger waves this means getting in easier and early. In smaller waves it means getting in with speed and glide.

Once on the wave the flat middle rocker is fast carrying speed through your drawn out bottom turn to get you wherever you want on the wave. To do your high power snap and cutback, the drawn in tail gives bite and there’s also extra rocker there. This extra tail flip allows you to pivot so by shifting weight back you can put in a big change of direction and power gouge.

High Tech

The Island Atom Shortboard has a single concave the length of the board. This gives you great water flow equating to high speed. Construction is of PU. This means the board is made of traditional foam, so it sits more in the wave not on it. This means you get a feeling of control and connection with the wave not often found in epoxy EPS boards. High tech materials are used in the construction included Innegra, a light weight super strong glass to give extra strength to the tail area where your foot and knees press. Extra glass is also used around the fin boxes for great durability. The Island Atom Shortboard is a great all round performer.
