FK Split Tail Pad

The FK Split Tail Pad gives you advanced traction with two different grip patterns for different parts of the pad. The front of the pad features low 2.5mm rectangles and grooves. With this low height you get the feel that you are in contact with your board. When you press and shift weight you’ve got sensitivity and your board instantly responds. It also makes it easier to move your foot forward when setting up a tube for example. The rear of the pad features raised squares with mini squares on top. Squares offer good traction as whatever way your foot lands it gets an angular point of leverage. The mini squares on top give an extra positive feel, a type of squishy grip.

2 Piece Split

The Split is a 2 piece design so the two pieces can expand closer to your board’s rails. However you can expand the pieces only so far before there’s too much space between them. Check the width of your tail is not too wide.

The FK Split Tail Pad center has 5mm arch that is not too high and will give you support without making you feel uncomfortable. The tail has a 30mm high kick that is high. It rises at 45 degrees so is steep. You can easily place the edge of your foot up against it and jam and carve. The kick has a flat top that you could land on if you’re doing airs. There’s an semi-circle incut at the tail so you can place this grip close to the end of your board for back foot placement over your back fin. The edges of the grip are rolled. This gives you better water flow and release. High quality adhesive means the pad will stay put once applied. The pad has EVA construction so while providing great traction you get minimal irritation on your knee and thigh.
