Dolfin Fin Box Fin

The Dolfin Fin Box Fin fits and adjustable fin box. It’s ideal for your retro, Mini-mal or Mid Length board. Crafted from fibreglass the fin has a timeless design in its shape inspired by surfing’s natural partner the dolphin. The fin has a stub at the rear that slots into the fin box to enable it to slide in and out and up and down the length of the box. Being adjustable it’s great to try this fin in a range of positions in the box, moving it and enhancing the performance of your board. For example placing the fin at the rear of the box gives you more drive and pivot. Moving the fin forward can make your board looser giving a skatey and faster feel.

Change Fin Position

Changing your fin position can have a bit impact on your board and surfing. A board you think doesn’t have much forward drive can suddenly really charge by moving the fin back. Similarly a board that is too hard to turn and tends to track can become lively moving the fin forward. Construction is either fibreglass honeycomb or fibreglass wood. Glass honeycomb construction means you get extra light weight. Fibgreglass is the original ideal fin construction material that provides stiffness and ideal flex. The honeycomb core gives you lightweight with strength and performance. Glass and timber provides a more natural finish along with consistent flex pattern. More consistent means that as hard as you push on the wave the fin will closely respond with drive. Both fin constructions will give you great fun surfing.
