The Balin Surf Hat gives you optimised protection creating your own piece of shade in the heat. Everything superfluous has been removed so you’re using only what works best. The brim has been trimmed so as not to flop around or get caught by wave action. However it’s just the right size to provide protection over your face, ears and the back of your neck. The brim casts a shadow over these area and direct overhead sunlight can’t penetrate. It’s also a great wetsuit accessory giving protection from the elements like wind chill.

Comfort & Security

The high crown provides an area of separation between the sun, the top of the hat, and your head. So the sun beating down doesn’t heat directly into your scalp. You get an air space that provides cooling insulation. When surfing you need the hat to stay put. Generous neoprene straps cover your ears additionally prevent sun exposure. They’re contoured to fit comfortably under your neck. These straps have mesh ear and drainage holes so your hearing is maximised.
